Match Report: NUNS Socials v Dorking, 12th Oct

You’ll have to forgive the lack of details and brevity of the following match report… it’s been a few weeks and I’ve played a few matches since then.

We had the usual Socials warm up, a bit of a chat, shooters putting up a few shots, attending to injuries and trying to sort out the kit bag while Flo finished umpiring.

It seemed to work though, we came out firing and led from the beginning. A really solid performance from everyone on court. In particular, the defence of Rachael and Marine was brilliant, hunting down tips and interceptions all over the place. The ball was brought down the court really smoothly. Dorking are a good team and certainly not a walk in the park, we still had to work hard, particularly in the circle with some quite young and lively defenders.

There was however, very little that went wrong – it was one of those games where everyone just did their job. It wasn’t all perfect, of course there were a few wayward passes but we managed to keep focused and kept them from making any real threat.

Overall a very good team effort.
